A Changing Society
The Victorian era is known for bringing much growth and change to Great Britain, especially London. Between the modernization of manufacturing processes, advancements in medicine, and rapid urban population growth, this period established Great Britain as the world’s leading commercial trading nation. As the country’s economic power grew, so did the discrepancy
between the “haves” and “have-
nots.” This paved the way for
much-needed social and political
reforms that improved living
conditions for England’s
children and working class.
