Chain Reactions
People often hurt others because someone else has bullied them. Use these resources to help your students understand what it means to be a bully-victim.
The Chain Reaction of Feelings
When we let our emotions get the best of us or act without thinking, we can hurt others by accident. While this is not bullying, it can have negative effects. One person may act out and hurt someone else's feelings. That victim may turn around and hurt someone else. This chain reaction can continue, hurting many more as it grows.
Oskar’s Laws of
Chain Reactions
First Law
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. If one person is hurt, they might hurt someone else. This creates a chain reaction.
Second Law
If a chain reaction occurs, it will continue until someone stops it with a chain reaction of forgiveness.
Third Law
The bigger the chain reaction, the more forgiveness is needed to end it.
Newton’s Laws of Motion
Oskar's laws have been adapted from Newton’s Laws of Motion. Use this video to teach older elementary students about Newton.
